Pool Rummy

Pool rummy is a popular format of the game. It is also known as “Syndicate”. In this format, the player with the least number of points wins the game. There are three variants of Pool Rummy – 101 Pool, 201 Pool, and 61 Pool Rummy. Players are eliminated once their accumulated scores reach the maximum points limit on the respective table.

Rules/Highlights

Pool 101, 201, and 61, are played between 2 to 6 players with one or more decks of cards.

Each player joins a Pool Rummy table by paying a fixed entry fee

Each game has multiple deals.

The player who fulfils the rummy objective(includes 1 pure sequence and another pure/impure sequence) first can call for a show and gets 0 points.

These scores get added up after the end of every Round. Players get eliminated as they reach 101 points in case of 101 pool rummy, 201 points in case of 201 pool rummy and 61 Points in case of 201 pool rummy.

Rejoin

Rejoin is allowed only if no player is above 79 in 101 pool rummy, 174 in 201 pool rummy, and 44 in 61 Rummy. And it is applicable only in the game where the entry fee is < 2000.

Your joining points will be equal to the person holding the highest points in the game + 1. Eg. – if the highest point is 71, you will rejoin the game with 71+1 = 72 points.

Split

Pool rummy is the only variant where players are allowed to split the prize money, depending on their drop counts.There are 2 Kinds of Split – Manual Split and Auto Split

Manual Split only works when all the participant players agree to split.

Auto split happens automatically.

Split Prize Calculation

Drops remaining for each of the players will be equated to that of the player with the least drops remaining. After equating, the excess drops remaining with each player will be paid out from the prize pool as (number of excess drops remaining * Entry Fee).

The remaining amount in the prize pool will then be equally distributed among the players
For Example : In a pool 101 table with r 25(0% service fee for simplicity’s sake) where the game started with more than 3 players and the table is now down to 3 players. Assuming :

The system should first equate the number of drops remaining for each player to the player with the least drops i.e. Player1 and Player2 will get a better cut of the prize pool

Remaining prize pool = 150 – 75 + 25 = ₹50 (is greater than r 25 or 1 drop)

Remaining prize pool distribution = 50 / number of players remaining = 50 / 3 = ~₹16.67

Prize split amounts :

Manual Split Logic

Manual Split conditions for all entry amounts <=2000.

No.of.players remaining on the table are less than the no.of.players started the table & Remaining players on the table are < 4.

Difference between the highest drop count and lowest drop count among the remaining players is less than or equal to 2.

Auto Split Logic

Auto Split conditions for all entry amounts >2000.

Winning Calculation

Player with the least score at the end is declared the winner.

At the end of the game, a losing player’s hand score is computed by adding points for cards that are not grouped as sets/sequences with the following exceptions.
- If the losing player has no pure sequence, all cards are counted.
- If the losing player does not have two sequences but has a pure sequence, only the pure sequence is not counted

At the end of a Pool Rummy game, the winner wins as follows:

Winnings =
(Entry Fee) X (Number of Players) – Playship fees

Example : Let’s say 5 players join a Pool Rummy game with a Rs 100 entry fee. The prize pool for this game will be Rs 100*5 – Playship fees
