What is a pure sequence in rummy?
A sequence of at least three cards of the same suit is called a pure sequence. You cannot use a joker card to complete a pure sequence. The other common name for a pure sequence is – first life.

What is Impure Sequence in Rummy?
A sequence that has been created with the help of a joker card, is called an impure sequence.

Important rules in rummy regarding the sequence

The sequence has to be a minimum of 3 Cards.
